Cable Reinforced Crash Beams B&B ARMR’s Crash Beam Barriers Gates
are engineered and designed to protect at-risk access points and
prevent forced vehicle entry or exit for industrial, commercial
and institutional facilities requiring medium to high security.
Available in manual, hydraulic or electromechanical operating modes,
the crash beam barrier gates are ideally suited and for oil refineries,
chemical plants, train yards, storage facilities, technical centers,
nuclear facilities, embassies, military installations and government
agencies.
B&B ARMR’s crash beam models have a minimum
gate opening of 12 feet (3.7 m) and a maximum of 28 feet (8.5 m).
The units are capable of immobilizing a 10,000 lb. (4,535.9 kg)
vehicle traveling 18 mph (29.0 km/h) to 20 mph (32.2 km/h) with
a penetration depth ranging from 18 to 20 feet (5.5 to 6.1 m). Basic
components of the crash beam barriers include the standard vertical
to horizontal arm with an energy absorption cable assembly, hinge
post, receiver/latch post, cable-reinforced crash beam and automatic
controls.
With a gate arm made of 4-inch 6061-T6 aluminum pipe lined with
a 7/8-inch annealed, stainless steel wire rope, B&B ARMR’s
crash barriers have been successfully crash tested for energy absorption
capacity per U.S. Navy Specifications and Department of the Army
rating level of KN1-LN2. Models CR-25 and CR-25M are listed by the
U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in the document, Protection Against
Malevolent Use of Vehicles at Nuclear Power Plants (NUREG/CR-6190
Vol. 2, Rev. 1).
When the crash beam is hit by a vehicle, the aluminum beam gives
way to the cable inside, and the impact energy is absorbed as the
cable stretches. When the cable is at full tension, the impact energy
is then transferred to the foundation through the hinge post and
the receiver/latch post of the crash beam.
B&B ARMR’s Crash Beam Barriers are available
with several enhancement options to easily adapt to suit any user’s
needs. For extremely cold weather, the receiver/latch post may be
equipped with a heater for uninterruptible operation or an electromagnetic
lock can be installed for additional security during unattended
times. Manual unit, Model 714, may be raised and lowered by one
person without the use of counter weights, and Model 712-P is a
portable vehicle barrier designed for fast installation in areas
where a permanent barrier in not available.

of perimeter protection, Model 820 is ideally suited for government
and military establishments, embassies and other critical infrastructures
vital to our national security, economy, public health and safety.
B&B ARMR’s Shallow-Mount Barriers are constructed of
heavy-gauge steel shapes and weldments designed to transmit the
energy of the impacting vehicle to the foundation. Once constructed,
the frame and top plate are finished with a superior rust inhibitor
and anti-wear paint allowing for superior corrosion protection.
The barrier is operated by either a hydraulic or pneumatic pumping
unit built to operate one or more barriers and uses a standard or
custom controller to meet the users’ requirements.
Installation of the crash barrier is simple with its shallow-mount
design so there is no need for any major excavation work on existing
roads or paved surfaces. Model 820 comes complete with all necessary
accesses for drains, hydraulic conduits and electrical services
to further ease the installation process.
In the active (up) position, the barrier stands 34 inches high
and lowers flush to the ground to allow authorized vehicles to pass.
The barrier plate is 9 feet (2.7 m) wide and is available in custom
sizes up to 18 feet (5.5 m) to fit challenging installations such
as parking garages and ramps, narrow thoroughfares or raised surfaces.
The barrier is provided with safety locks that may be used during
servicing to secure the unit for long periods of time. Additional
safety devices can be used to enhance the barrier performance including
face-mounted red LED lights, safety loops, traffic arms and traffic
lights.

Surface Mount Barriers B&B
ARMR’s Model 890 Surface-Mount Vehicle Barricades are
designed to prevent vehicles from entering restricted and controlled
areas. Model 890 is tested to the US Marshal's Standard and is capable
of stopping a 4,000 lb. (1814.4 kg) vehicle going at speeds up to
30 mph (48.3 km/h) with zero penetration.
Designed for facilities
and environments requiring a medium to high level of perimeter protection,
Model 890 is ideally suited for commercial applications including
business parks, school campuses, shopping malls, hotels, museums
and apartment complexes.
B&B ARMR’s Surface-Mount Barricades
are constructed of heavy-gauge steel shapes and weldments designed
to transmit the energy of the impacting vehicle to the foundation.
Once constructed, the frame and top plate are finished with a superior
rust inhibitor and anti-wear paint allowing for superior corrosion
protection. The barrier is operated by a self-contained pumping
unit designed specifically for the user’s application and
is equipped with all valves, ports and fittings to operate the barricade
for continuous use.
Installation of the crash barrier is simple with its surface-mount
design so there is no need for any major excavation work on existing
roads or paved surfaces. Model 890 bolts onto an existing concrete
slab or roadway and comes complete with all necessary accesses for
drains, hydraulic conduits and electrical services to further ease
the installation process. The pumping unit also includes a universal

Perimeter Security Bollards B&B
ARMR’s Model B-30 High Security Vehicle
Access Control Bollard Systems are expertly and aesthetically designed
to act as a vehicular deterrent for perimeter security and traffic
control purposes.
Engineered for simple installation, fast service
and easy relocation, the Model B-30 is constructed
of high strength steel cylindrical units encased in movable bollard
tubes guided by an offset flange assembly with precision molded
anti-friction surfaces. All subterranean components including the
foundation is coated to prevent corrosion.
D.O.S.-certified with a K8 rating, Model B-30
stands 30 inches (metric) tall and is available in 4-, 8- and 10-inch
diameter. Each bollard is capable of immobilizing a 15,000 lb. (metric)
vehicle going up to 40 mph (metric) with less than a 50-foot penetration
depth.
Model B-30 features three operation modes further
allowing tailored control solutions for any type of facility or
environment. Automatic (hydraulic and pneumatic) operation of the
bollard system requires minimal surveillance and is ideal for areas
requiring continual operation and access. Manual bollards are best
suited for facilities requiring a higher level of security where
constant guard is kept, and removable bollards are typically used
as temporary traffic diversions.
Arranged independently or engineered to work as a set, the Model
B-30 Bollard System incorporates dual speeds for
normal operation (4-5 seconds) and emergency fast operation (2-3
seconds) for when immediate deterrence is required. The bollards
also features three operating methods including card reader activation,
push button and vehicle detector to suit the entry/exit characteristics
of any operation.
