INVISA SmartGateŽ
The INVISA SmartGate® product line is used today in parking gates, slide gates, and other powered closures as a non-contact safety sensor, reducing the potential for the costly vehicle damage and personal injury that is often accompanied by expensive and time-consuming litigation

SmartGateŽ PBG-3 Non-Contact Safety Sensor for Parking Barrier Gates

Standard Setting, Presence-Sensing Technology
The SmartGate system provides non-contact safety sensing for parking barrier gates and slide gates. Unlike older technologies, the SmartGate safety system has no narrowly focused light beams to keep aligned, no output lenses or sending units to keep clean, no bulbs or emitters to burn out, and no expensive in-ground installation. It does not need frequent adjustments or cleanings and functions with buildups of ice, water, snow and dust. The SmartGate system's invisible field puts safety sensing where it should be - moving with and preceding the hazardous closing gate arm. Patented technology provides the maximum area of safety sensing and the capability to sense both people and vehicles. Manufacturers, dealers, consultants, and end users have recognized SmartGate as the premier safety solution that helps to reduce the number of personal injury and vehicle damage claims and to cut overall liability exposure.

Overview
The SmartGate non-contact safety system can easily be installed into any existing or new gate in about one hour. When alarmed, the SmartGate system sends signals that, when connected to the correct input on the gate operator, can signal to stop or reverse the motion of the closing gate arm. An invisible field surrounds the complete length of the gate arm. The larger the conductive object, the farther away the system will "see" it!

Theory of Operation
The SmartGate safety system generates a weak RF energy field from a "Sense" antenna that is mounted along the length of the gate arm. Any conductive object introduced between the system's invisible field and the ground causes a change that is detected via the antenna causing SmartGate to provide an alarm signal to the gate controller.
Faster setup and operation.

Fewer connections
Digital switches for "Normal" and "Reduce" settings (easy return to previous setting)
Onboard signal strength LED
(for test and setup)
Built in frequency readout
Field replaceable fuses
Larger terminal blocks (accept standard screwdriver)
Onboard InvisaShield™ Generator (ISG)
Onboard audio output can operate on either alarm condition or when "Reduce" or "Cutout" is activated - allows faster setup of "Reduce" and "Cutout" switches

Greater Flexibility.

Optional dual input antenna
Optional remote ISG
Optional NEMA 4 enclosure
4 programmable "Reduce" and "Cutout" operation modes
Smaller size for tight spaces
Wider range of operating voltages
Lower power consumption
Relay output for normal operation and opto-isolated output for lower power operation (optional)
