Vehicle Sallyports
PLUSS Standard
PLUSS vehicle sallyport locking systems are the workhorse of
the correctional market. These innovative locking devices have
earned the reputation of being the most cost advantageous systems
in today?s correctional market. Our products perform! Tymetal
has a reference list (available upon request) that will illustrate
our commitment to service, timely delivery, low maintenance
requirements and the outstanding training/technical support
services we provide. DURABLE:Inclement
weather conditions or inmate tampering are no match for the
PLUSS locking systems! The PLUSS systems feature an enclosed
drive assembly. The entire drive and locking mechanisms are
encased in a 10 gauge galvanized steel enclosure. This enclosure
protects the locking and drive assemblies providing positive
engagement without loss of draw force, (force to open and close
the gate/steel door), in all weather conditions. The 10 gauge
galvanized steel enclosure offers superior protection against
possible tampering. SECURE: The
sallyport locking systems feature a keyless three-point positive
locking capability making it impossible to open the gate except
by electrical operation or emergency hand-cranking. A state
of the art locking device enables the system to positively lock
either a chain link fence panel or a steel door in three secure
locations along the leading edge of the gate or steel door.
PLUSS 10
For maximum security applications and openings up to 30? wide,
PLUSS 10 features (2) 10-inch hot-dip galvanized structural
steel channels joined together to form the overhead supporting
track. Trolley wheels, milled from a single block of steel,
are hardened to Rockwell 30, and include two sealed ball bearings
per wheel. Ideal for door weights up to 6,500 lbs. Remote "open-close-stop"
push buttons control the steel doors. In the event of an emergency
or power failure the operator may be unlocked with our paracentric
key and hand cranked. As is the case with all PLUSS Correctional
Series Operators, gear ratios are set so that the door easily
moves in synch with any manual cranking. Tymetal?s Locking System
features our three point mechanical locking column for superior
positive locking.
PLUSS Manual Crank
The PLUSS Manual Crank Operated Sliding Gate System, manufactured
by the Tymetal Corp., is the non-motorized version of our Positive
Locking Ultimate Sallyport System (PLUSS). It is for use in
maximum/medium security vehicle detention situations, and is
designed to minimize maintenance in applications requiring repetitive
use and total security. This is also an excellent alternative
to double swing gates that have little or no provision for locking.
The cabinet housing the gear/crank unit of this system is located
at ground level, but safely away from the gate opening. It is
a direct drive system providing a corresponding movement of
the gate panel with every turn of the crank handle. Additionally,
this system utilizes heavy duty overhead track, trolleys, embedment
and locking mechanisms. Complete specifications for the system
are available upon request. Included with the system, upon order
receipt, are shop drawings, detailed product data sheets, certifications,
operation and maintenance data, and installation details. Field
quality control is available upon request as is a system acceptance
test under the supervision of Tymetal's field advisor.
225CF Operator Systems
Various components comprise the 225 CF Overhead Gate Systems.
Tymetal provides all components as an integrated system from
a single source. The exposed drive gate operators are a key
element of the 225 CF Systems. When combined with the Fortress
overhead track, trucks and proven locking system (1850 Electro-mechanical
Lock) and associated hardware, you have the finest sliding gate
system available for minimum to low security applications. LOCKING:
These systems are designed to function with a Tymetal 1850 Electro-mechanical
lock. The 225 CF operators allow for gate lock release prior
to gate panel movement. SERVICEABLE:
The motor assembly is ground mounted. This means easy access
for routine inspection of the motor unit and limit assembly.
ENGINEERED: Tymetal offers a complete
line of CAD (Computer Aided Design) services from the conceptual
stages of your project to the final submittal drawings. Additionally,
all of our 225 CF drawings are available on CD’s, CAD
disks or via e-mail. Hydraulic (Friction)
Rail Drive Operator: A good selection for your sallyport
needs. The 225 HRD friction drive rail system features a hydraulic
motor and pumps encased in a 10-gauge galvanized steel motor
box with all electrical components meeting UL requirements.
225 Chain Drive Gate Operator: Suited for a higher level
of security than hydraulic operators, the 225 gate operator
meets all current UL requirements while providing the maintenance
staff with a very user-friendly piece of equipment.
Manual Hand Crank: The manual hand crank is a key security
feature for both the 225 CF gate operator ad TYM-VS (Variable
Speed) gate operator. During manual operation, the security
guard has complete control of the gate system.
TYM VS (Variable Speed): The best selection for your
exposed drive sallyport gate operator needs. The TYM-VS (Variable
Speed) electrical package utilizes circuit board technology
meeting UL requirements.

2200-A Swing Gate System
Virtually maintenance free. Tymetal's 2200-A Swing Gate System
is manufactured to meet demanding requirements of maximum security
and to provide for the safe, secure movement of inmates.
SECURE: The 2200-A Pedestrian Swing Gate System, is fully
assembled at the factory and shipped to the project site ready
for installation. The controlled swinging motion of the 2200-A
gate system assures continual lock alignment with minimal maintenance.
DURABLE: Constructed from 10-gauge hot-dip galvanized
steel, the indestructible 2200-A Swing Gate System is the ultimate
swing gate system in today's correctional market.
VERSATILE: The 2200-A Swing Gate Systems are offered
in 42" and 60" openings x 84" clear height.
OPTIONS: Tymetal's gate systems may be equipped with
a variety of access control equipment, including card readers,
speaker box, cameras and a variety of locking devices (Electro-mechanical

3100 Pedestrian Sliding Gate System

the gate panel in both the open and closed position at two points.

This design features a gate that is isolated from the fenceline
and commonly used when perimeter fence alarm systems are employed.
CONSISTENT ALIGNMENT: The complete
system ensures proper lock alignment and consistent gate travel.
VANDAL PROOF: Virtually indestructible,
provides superior resistance to tampering. PADLOCKING:
The door handle and padlock combination may be applied in lieu
of an electromechanical lock or mechanical lock.

pleasing appeal. 2150 SERIES ORNAMENTAL
COATING OPTIONS: You may powder coat this gate in the

mechanism. 2150 MANUAL DEADLOCK:
Systems are secured with either a 5 tumbler or 6 tumbler dead
bolt lock with paracentric keying. The lock is mounted into
the gate frame and protected from the elements. The entire gate
system is factory assembled and shipped to the project ready
for installation.

Fortress Vertical Lift Gate
Tymetal's Fortress Vertical Lift Gate
is specified in cases of high usage, especially when there is
insufficient space outside of the gate opening for an overhead
or cantilever gate to retract before hitting an obstacle. The
heavy construction of the superstructure, combined with a drive
chain mechanism, lifts the gate open and pulls the gate closed.
This unique drive mechanism features a counterweight that runs
inside both vertical support columns. The counterweight is designed
to approximate the weight of the gate, assuring the motor and
chain drive mechanism minimize stress and maintenance. By incorporating
a continuous loop drive system, which is connected directly
to the counterweight inside the support column, the Fortress
Vertical Lift Gate is assured smooth operation in either direction.
The vertical support columns of the gate superstructure are
constructed of heavy duty W12x53 structural steel. The gate
frame is fabricated from 6063-T6 aluminum alloy extrusions in
one or more sections. The gate is attached to the vertical track
by means of four self-aligning, 4-wheeled, sealed lubricant,
ball-bearing truck assemblies.

Vehicle Barrier
Tymetal Corp., located in Greenwich, NY and Pearland, TX, has
been providing vehicle security gate systems for the correctional
industry for the past 17 years. Our experience has enabled us
to create a system that combines visual security with tested,
proven crash protection, the Fortified Impact Gate System (FIGS).
UNPARALLELED: FIGS is the only certified
vehicle gate that is crash tested for openings up to 288"
(24’ - 0") based on the U.S. Department of State
vehicle crash performance guidelines. DETERRENCE:
The Fortified Impact Gate System is designed to deter potential
threats by vehicles to personnel and real property. The potential
threat is defined as the mass of the vehicle to be deterred
and the velocity the vehicle will be traveling at impact. In
addition to the superior vehicle protection, this system is
also ideal to protect against unauthorized pedestrian traffic.
COMPONENTS: Mounted to the gate
frame is the fortifying member, which consists of structural
steel tubing housing one-inch cables, precast concrete anchors
and a cast in place connection beam. When the gate system is
fully closed, the precast anchors are engaged by specially designed
locking mechanisms that lock the fortifying member in place.
PROTECTION: The action of the locking mechanism interconnects
the gate frame, fortifying member, concrete anchors and connecting
concrete beam into a single unitized protection system capable
of restraining the encroaching vehicle to a predetermined crash
rating. CERTIFICATION: Tymetal
Corp.’s Fortified Impact Gate System (FIGS) is certified
by the United States Department of State (DOS) as an active
anti-ram vehicle barrier. As important, the Tymetal System applies
to gate openings of up to 24 feet. The FIGS, physically crash
tested in November 2002, received a DOS rating of K4/L3, currently
designated K4 (revised March, 2003). The FIGS was also crash
tested at 50 miles per hour, limiting penetration to 18 feet
9 inches. The combination of an independently tested, DOS certified
gate and a gate with opening spans of up to 24 feet is unmatched
in the industry. The value of actual crash testing rather than
computer simulation or in house demonstrations is significant.
The DOS certification test program is the most stringent in
the nation and provides a meaningful supplier to supplier comparison
through testing under identical conditions.
GATE SIZES: The Fortified Impact Gate System (FIGS) is
certified for openings that range from 144" (12’
- 0") with increments of 12" (1’ - 0")
up to 288" (24’ - 0"). ELECTRICAL
CONTROLLER / OPERATIONAL SPEED OPTIONS: The PLUSS electro-mechanical
(non-solid state) wiring package meets all current UL requirements
while providing the maintenance staff with a very user friendly
piece of equipment. The system is comprised of standard off
the shelf electrical components making repairs (if necessary)
straightforward and easy. Standard operational speeds of 30
to 40 feet per minute are engineered for this electrical package.
TYM-VS Controller: The TYM-VS (Variable Speed) electrical
package utilizes circuit board technology meeting new UL requirements.
This option provides for operational speeds that range from
1.2 to 2.2 feet per second and is ideal for the larger openings
or security applications that require quicker system speeds.
VERSATILITY: Even though security is more of a concern
than aesthetics, FIGS delivers both. For city jails or judicial
parking, it can use ornamental aluminum gate panels for a decorative
look. Steel chain link gate panels for a more institutional
look. The anchors may also be provided in an exposed aggregate
finish for an aesthetically pleasing result.
